Restaurant managers have to ensure that the restaurants that they are working in are being efficiently operated. Their main priority is to maintain the high standards of food, service, health and safety. They also need to organize promotional events and discount schemes.They need to look into developing reports of staff control, food control and sales and are also required to set budgets. Restaurant managers need to use their creativity in planning and coordinating menus. They are expected to deal with customer complaints and ensure that all employees adhere to the company's uniform standards. Their work also involves recruiting, training and motivating staff; organizing and supervising the shifts of kitchen, waiting and cleaning staff. They are also expected to check stock levels and order supplies and basically help out in any area of the restaurant as and when circumstances dictate.Money matters
The salary of a restaurant manager will depend greatly on the employer and type of establishment. Many restaurant managers also receive bonus payments if they reach the targets set.
